Your privacy is important to HealthPartners. The protected health information you provide or access through the HealthPartners Mobile Application (the “App”) is subject to our Notice of Privacy Practices accessible here.
When you download, access or use the App, the App may (depending on your device or App permission settings) have access to certain information from your device, such as:
- Device ID and device information. The App may use your device ID (including your device’s advertising identifier) to recognize your mobile device and to provide you with a better experience. The App may also collect information about your mobile device, including the model of device used and its operating system, and the version of our mobile app used. We may use this information to understand how our App performs when you use it.
- Storage. The App may need to access the stored files on your device in order for you to upload files, such as a photocopy of your insurance.
- Camera and photos. The App may utilize your device’s camera or access your device’s photos so you can take pictures for the claims reimbursement process and other documentation.
- Location. The App may utilize your location to allow you to find health care providers near you. For example, if you are in need of urgent care and search for an urgent care clinic, we may use location information from your mobile device to direct you to the clinic nearest you.
- Phone. The App may directly read/call phone numbers.
For certain information collected through your device, we may ask for your consent within the App. You do not have to provide consent if you do not want to allow HealthPartners to interact with your information as requested. For example, your mobile device may allow you to adjust your settings so that location information is not available to any mobile website or application. Please note changing your permission settings may limit the functionality of these features on the App. If you have questions about the security and privacy settings of your mobile device, please refer to instructions from your mobile service provider or the manufacturer of your device.
We will store information collected via our App for no longer than is necessary for the performance of our obligations or to achieve the purposes for which the information was collected, or as may be permitted under applicable law.
Additionally, you may be able to log into the App using your device’s login features, such as using a passcode or facial recognition. These device login features are facilitated through your device, not HealthPartners; we do not control these features.
With your permission, the App can connect to other mobile applications to receive and share information with your health care providers. You may give your permission to continuously sync your health data when you link your Apple Health, Google Fit or similar third-party account to the App. The sharing of this information with your health care provider only happens when you initiate it.
If you no longer wish to use our App, you may uninstall our App from your device. Note that this action will not delete your user account or any information we previously collected via the App nor does it affect information collected outside of the App, such as on our website.
