Career

Dr. Mark Sannes is currently the Co-Executive Medical Director of the HealthPartners Care Group. He joined Park Nicollet Health Services in 2006, working in the Infectious Disease and Travel Medicine Clinic, where he eventually became department chair and medical director for travel medicine. He was named Senior Medical Director at HealthPartners in 2015 and has been the organization’s clinical lead for COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Dr. Sannes also serves on the board of directors for Hutchinson Health, St. Francis Regional Medical Center and Regions Hospital. In addition to his leadership responsibilities, Dr. Sannes is a member of the Infectious Disease Department and maintains an active clinic and hospital practice.

Dr. Sannes is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the Infectious Disease Society of America. He’s also been recognized as a Top Doctor by Mpls.St.Paul Magazine nine years in a row. Prior to joining HealthPartners and Park Nicollet, Dr. Sannes was an infectious disease physician at Hennepin County Medical Center. He’s a graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School and has a Master of Science in Clinical Research from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health.
