After completing my training in obstetrics and gynecology in New York, I felt very fortunate to find HealthPartners and Park Nicollet – a place where doctors are able to practice the best health care possible while continuing to grow professionally. While I enjoy working with women in each stage of their lives, I have found it particularly rewarding to work with women in perimenopause and menopause. I felt it was important to become a certified menopause practitioner through the North American Menopause Society (NAMS).
Another area that I am passionate about, and have pursued advanced training in, is minimally invasive surgery. Though many gynecologic challenges can be approached in a medical or non-invasive way, there are times when surgery becomes necessary. The advances made in the last several years in minimally invasive surgery are remarkable, particularly regarding da Vinci robotic surgery. When caring for patients with heavy periods, fibroids or endometriosis, I have been impressed by how this type of surgery has benefited our patients, from outcomes to recovery and, most importantly, in quality of life.
