    About HealthPartners content

I’m a pediatric endocrinologist at Park Nicollet, where I care for children with diabetes, thyroid disorders, puberty issues and concerns about being overweight or obese. The endocrine system is a complex system of glands and organs from which hormones are released as chemical messengers to regulate growth and other vital processes such as metabolism and appetite. Because kids are in a state of constant growth, if the system becomes disordered it’s important to get specialty care to help them with their development – both physical and emotional. That is why I have a particular interest in helping kids with childhood obesity. I have been certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatric endocrinology to do this work, but I don’t do it alone. I work as a team with patients and their families, as well as dieticians, physical therapists and metal health counselors, to help children make lifestyle changes that will help them as they grow.

On a personal note, I live in Minneapolis with my family, and I enjoy reading, downhill skiing and needlepoint.
