If you are a cardiac or pulmonary patient, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation is an important part of your care. At Regions Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation in St. Paul, Minnesota, you’ll receive education and exercise to maintain your heart and lung health. Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation is two separate services: pulmonary rehabilitation (for people with chronic breathing problems) and cardiac rehabilitation (for people who have had a heart attack, heart surgery or certain heart procedures). During a typical cardiopulmonary rehabilitation session, we’ll monitor your heart rate while guiding you through exercises designed to improve your stamina and strengthen your body. Sessions also include patient education around your condition, nutrition, and other lifestyle modifications you can make to improve your cardiopulmonary health. Cardiac rehabilitation classes last 90 minutes and consist of one hour of exercise (including 30 minutes of aerobic exercise) and a half-hour education class. Exercise classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday or Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Education classes are available before or after all exercise classes on Monday through Thursday.
