Video visits for prenatal care

Personalized pregnancy care without leaving your nest

Easy, convenient and personal, prenatal video visits offer another way for your OB-GYN or midwife to give you and baby the care you need – wherever you may be.

Just like an office visit, you’ll be face-to-face with your OB-GYN or midwife. They’ll listen to any questions or concerns you have, and talk with you to understand how you’re feeling and how your pregnancy is going. Video visits are billed the same as in-person visits.

Now is always the right time for quality prenatal care. Don’t wait. Easy access to the care you and baby need is at your fingertips.

But wait – do video visits replace in-person prenatal visits?

No. Video visits just add another way for you to conveniently and meaningfully connect with your OB-GYN or midwife.

In-person visits will still be a major part of your prenatal care. We want to see you and you want to see your baby on an ultrasound screen. So, you and your OB-GYN or midwife will work together to determine the right combination of in-clinic, phone and video visits.

How do you get started with prenatal video visits? It’s as easy as 1-2-3.

  1. Make an appointment online for a day and time that works for you. You can also call your local clinic to set up an appointment. Your appointment details, the link to access your video visit, and tools for modifying your appointment will be available through your HealthPartners online account.
  2. Fill out this consent (PDF) and have it ready for your appointment. This gives us the ability to use your information to coordinate care, treatment and more.
  3. About an hour before your scheduled appointment, you will receive an email or text message with an encrypted link to join your visit. When you are ready, click on the link on your mobile device or type the link into your internet browser to join on your desktop. You can also join your visit through your HealthPartners online account.

That’s it! Your OB-GYN or midwife will join the session when your appointment begins.
