Give a gift to Park Nicollet Foundation in support of Cannabis Research
Since 2016, Dylan Zylla, MD, MS, medical director of the HealthPartners/Park Nicollet Cancer Research Center, has led a statewide Cannabis in Cancer workgroup with leaders from the Minnesota Department of Health, University of Minnesota, Mayo Clinic, Minnesota Medical Solutions (Vireo Health), and LeafLine Labs. This research supports evidence that medical cannabis may help reduce symptoms patients experience due to cancer and its treatment such as pain, nausea and insomnia with very few side effects.
With your philanthropic support, Dr. Zylla and his team at the Cancer Research Center can build on the information gained from their recently completed Cannabis in Cancer study - a 3-month trial conducted for patients with stage IV cancers. This trial showed that patients using cannabis had better pain control and required less opioids – therefore, they experienced a better quality of life during their difficult cancer journey.
Our Cancer Research Center is quickly becoming a leader in this field. Your financial support will help us launch future studies that will better define how to safely and effectively incorporate cannabis in a way that improves both the physical and emotional well-being for our patients living with cancer. These studies will benefit patients, researchers, and the public by helping us better understand how cannabis can be used to improve health and provide a better quality of life for patients living with cancer.
Thank you for your consideration, generosity and support!
