Ambulance for non-emergency situations

If you’re unable to move on your own and you need to go to the doctor, who will take you? Who can you call if your loved one in a nursing home needs to go to an appointment? HealthPartners Medical Transportation (HPMT) can help.

HPMT offers basic life support ambulance transportation for people who have serious conditions or injuries. They might need to be moved on stretchers, or require trained medical support. Using a standard car or public transportation is usually not an option.

Getting to and from doctor appointments and therapy with an ambulance

We’re the only licensed ambulance company in the state that focuses exclusively on inter-facility transportation. We can take you or your loved one to and from:

  • The hospital
  • The nursing home
  • Doctor’s appointments
  • Dialysis, therapy and imaging
  • Hospice

Transport is provided by emergency medical technicians (EMTs). They will ensure you or your family member get from point A to point B safely, securely and on time.

Affordable rates. Free cost estimates.

For many people, the cost of medical transportation is covered by health insurance. We accept most insurance plans, including Medicare. However, if you’re paying for your transportation out of pocket, you’ll be relieved to know that we offer the most competitive rates in the Twin Cities. We’re in business to serve you, and we believe a big part of that is providing affordable transportation options.
