About Physicians Neck & Back Center

PNBC helps people in the Twin Cities living with chronic neck and back pain.

PNBC treats back pain in a way that really works

Since Physicians Neck & Back Center was founded in 1990, we have treated hundreds of thousands of people with chronic neck and back pain. This high level of experience is important. It means that the approach we use was developed over time, studied and tested. It means that when you come to PNBC, you are treating your pain in a way that really works.

How does back pain treatment work?

On your first visit to PNBC, you’ll meet with a physical therapist or a medical doctor. You will receive an exam and your provider will talk with you about your medical history. He or she might also recommend a spinal strength test.

If it turns out that we’re a good fit, we’ll create a unique physical therapy program just for you.

The program is typically twice a week for 6 to 12 weeks. During that time, you’ll get hands-on coaching and training from one of our physical therapy professionals.

Once you’ve built spinal fitness by completing our physical therapy program, PNBC CORE might be a good option for you. CORE helps patients maintain their strength and prevent future injuries.

Who is a good candidate?

PNBC focuses on helping people with chronic neck and back pain. If you can answer yes to any of these questions, you may be a good candidate for our program:

  • Have you had neck or back symptoms for more than six to eight weeks?
  • Do you have any symptoms in your arms, hands, legs or feet?
  • Have you had any similar symptoms in the past?

How much does back pain treatment cost?

Back pain treatment at PNBC is covered by almost all major health plans in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Each health plan is different. Some policies have co-insurance, which means that you pay a percentage of the bill. Others have a co-pay, which means a flat fee for each visit. Be sure to check with your plan to see how much is covered and if a referral is needed. You can check by calling the number on the back of your insurance card.

We are open to discussing flexible payment options as the need arises. We offer self-pay financial agreements for people without insurance. And we will never turn patients away for financial reasons.
