Exploring what it means to come of age in an “always-on” culture

Most young people don’t remember a world without notifications. Our lives unfold in real time, through streaks, likes and endless updates. There’s always another message to answer, another goal to chase, another version of ourselves to keep up with.

This thought-provoking keynote explores what it really means to come of age in an “always-on” culture. A culture where algorithms shape identity, productivity feels like self-worth and rest is framed as falling behind. Drawing on research and lived experience, we will examine how technology and achievement culture intersect to influence mental health, motivation and burnout.
