For 65 years, Rusco, a local remodeling company, has been there for Minnesotans for all their remodeling needs. But now they have found a new way to help.

Recently, owners Jay Deems and Michael Hazelwood approached Methodist Hospital to show their support by making a donation. For them, helping others is nothing new. Every year, they donate $50,000 in remodeling projects to their community. They have embedded gratitude and giving back into their home remodeling company values since 1955. Their generous gift to the Park Nicollet Foundation COVID-19 Response and Relief Fund will honor and support Park Nicollet and Methodist Hospital health care workers taking care of patients and their families throughout the pandemic.

“Our business is growing and we want to give thanks and give back,” they said. “It’s our way of continuing to serve the people of Minnesota who are so important to us.”

They see how everyone, in one way or the other, have been impacted by COVID-19. From the families staying home, to the people in our communities helping each other, they see how everyone is making a difference, especially those working in health care. They want to make sure they are recognized.

“The people that are in the health care community put themselves in harm’s way to save others every day. We are so proud of them!”

They hope that their generosity will inspire locally owned companies to do the same.

“It feels good to give to others,” they said. “To the businesses out there who are thinking about what they can do, this is one small way that makes a huge impact.”
