Partnering with Partnership Resources is a win-win
Like with our employees, the diversity of our volunteers makes our organization stronger
A dynamic trio of volunteers is helping bring our mission to life at the HealthPartners corporate office in Bloomington.
Heidi, Michael and Wade are an important part of the HealthPartners team. And they have been for nearly three years! Supervised by job coach Sue Houghton, the group has worked on a variety of office projects like:
- Preparing materials for the yumPower School Challenge
- Stuffing envelopes
- Preparing folders for support classes
- Labeling products
They got connected with our organization through Partnership Resources, Inc. (PRI). This local non-profit matches individuals with developmental disabilities with places where they can play a respected and valued role in their community.
“Volunteering shows they are capable of doing things that are beneficial to other people,” Houghton said. “They really enjoy volunteering. And they get so much out of working in the community. Plus, it shows other people how valuable of an asset they are.”
It is a win-win! HealthPartners saves resources. And our employees grow simply by getting the chance to work alongside these volunteers and their smiles.
Heidi, Michael and Wade are familiar faces in our office café. They enjoy having lunch there when their volunteer shifts end. And they especially love the pizza!
