Our leadership team helps guide our efforts as we provide excellent care to Amery and our surrounding communities.

Amery Hospital & Clinic is proud to be part of the HealthPartners system of care, a multi-specialty group practice serving more than 1.2 million in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. We’re working to provide more options, more services and more comfort to all our patients so we can maintain a healthy, happy Amery.

Debra Rudquist joined Amery Hospital & Clinic in October 2014 as President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to that time, she held many health care leadership positions at Allina Health and Fairview Health Services - most recently functioning as the system-wide Cardiovascular Vice President for Fairview. At Allina, she held a number of operational leadership and business development positions including executive director of ambulatory services. A registered nurse by background, she has an undergraduate degree from the College of St. Catherine and a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota. She is also a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Mr. Johnson joined Amery Hospital & Clinic in October 2019 as the Chief Financial Officer. His areas of responsibility include financial services, materials management and patient access. Mr. Johnson also serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Hudson Hospital & Clinic, Lakeview Hospital and Westfields Hospital & Clinic.

Dr. Sura is the Chief Medical Officer for Amery Hospital & Clinic and is board certified in emergency medicine and family medicine. He joined the Amery Hospital & Clinic medical staff in 2013.

Ms. Reed began her career with Amery Hospital & Clinic as a staff nurse, became a House Supervisor and started our Diabetes Education and Quality Improvement programs.

In 2002, Ms. Reed was promoted to the position of Administrator of Clinic Services. Key accomplishments were adding Luck and Turtle Lake clinics and working with the Senior Team to build the current Amery Hospital & Clinic main campus.

Since March 2019, she’s been the Vice President of Patient Care and Chief Nursing Officer, which oversees all inpatient nursing services as well as pharmacy, quality, emergency preparedness, ambulance and behavioral health services.

Ms. Schilling joined Amery Hospital & Clinic in April 2017 as the Senior Director for Human Resources. Ann has 30 years of comprehensive human resources experience in a variety of industries including academia, defense, financial services and health care. She was most recently employed at United Healthcare for 15 years. Ann received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota.

Anthony Gould joined Amery Hospital & Clinic in 2007 as a staff physical therapist. In 2011, Anthony became the Director of Rehabilitation Services, and most recently, in 2019, he became the Director of Ancillary Services. In this role, he oversees Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, Nutrition Services, Rehabilitation Services and the Wound Healing Center.

Anthony completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire, his master’s in physical therapy at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, his doctorate in physical therapy at The College of St. Scholastica, and recently received his master’s in business administration at St. Mary’s University.

Tom Onan joined Amery Hospital and Clinic in April 2018. He has been involved in health care and medical group operations for 20 years, including as the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Analysis at Ministry Health Care St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin, and as the Director of Hospital Based Clinician Services at the Ascension Medical Group.

Tom’s areas of responsibility include the Amery Primary Care, Same Day and Specialty Clinics, as well as the three rural health clinics of Luck, Turtle Lake and Clear Lake.

Tom holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a concentration in analysis and research.

Renee Heintz joined HealthPartners in 2011, holding roles in accounting and finance. Renee started in Amery in 2017 as the Director of Finance. In this role, she oversees finance, patient access and patient financial services.

Renee received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls in accounting.

Ms. McNeil has been a part of the Amery Hospital & Clinic leadership team as the Wound Healing Center Director since 2017 and transitioned to the Amery Hospital & Clinic Foundation in December 2019. Diane has previous experience with fund development and community relations. She also has a certificate in fund raising management. Diane's major responsibilities include foundation initiatives and community health.

Dr. Peterson is a board certified family medicine physician who joined the Amery Hospital & Clinic medical staff in 1992. She is the Clinic Primary Care Medical Director and continues to practice primary care, including obstetrics. Dr. Peterson received her medical degree from the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Peterson resides in Amery and is active in the community. She has been a mentor of students throughout her career.
