Patient billing, financial support and price transparency
Understanding your bill and insurance coverage is an important part of having a pleasant health care experience. At Amery Hospital & Clinic, we work hard to answer your questions and make sure your bill is as clear as possible. Our patient account representatives are available to answer your questions from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Due to precautions for COVID-19, we encourage you to call us
Health care costs can add up quickly and become difficult to manage. In order to help you get the health care you need, we offer financial assistance for our patients.
Financial Assistance opportunities are available for patients who aren’t able to pay their health care services in full within 30 days of billing. We offer payment plans with no interest to all patients who have outstanding account balances. If you need additional financial assistance, we ask that you complete a financial assistance application. No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay; and there is a discounted/sliding fee schedule available based on family size and income.
Financial assistance will be based on certain qualifications such as income, size of family and other sources of payment provided on the application. The federal government requires hospitals to post its standard charges reflecting each inpatient and outpatient service and item provided by the hospital.
Our standard charges may be far different than the amounts you are expected to pay. Amery Hospital & Clinic has negotiated varying discounts with Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance plans. Price Point is a website that allows you to access service cost information for the top 75 Inpatient and Outpatient procedures performed at Wisconsin Health Care Facilities, including Amery Hospital & Clinic. Medical facilities report data to the WHA (Wisconsin Hospital Association) Information Center on a quarterly basis, making recent charge and pricing information available to consumers.
You will be asked to provide or present all insurance or third-party payer information. This is usually found on your insurance card, so please have your insurance cards with you when visiting with a Scheduling or Registration Representative by phone or when you come to the hospital or clinic. While Amery Hospital & Clinic will file insurance claims on your behalf, this does not release you from any responsibility for the charges billed to your account. Your insurance contract is between you and your insurance.
Our representatives aren’t able to tell you which services your insurance covers. If you aren’t sure, the best thing to do is call the number on the back of your insurance card.

Amery Hospital & Clinic is required to keep an updated list of providers who provide emergency or other medically necessary care for our hospital. This list tells you who is covered by our financial assistance policy and who isn’t.
