Hudson Hospital & Clinic leadership

Our leadership team is at the center of our efforts to support the health and well-being of our patients and the St. Croix Valley community.

Hudson Hospital & Clinic is part of the HealthPartners health care system, a multi-specialty group practice that serves more than 1.2 million patients across Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Together, we’re living our values each day to promote the health and well-being of the St. Croix Valley community and beyond.

Tom joined Hudson Hospital & Clinic in September of 2017, serving as President. He also serves as Hudson Hospital Foundation President. In 2018 and 2019, he was included in the 70 Critical Access Hospital CEOs to Know list by Becker’s Hospital Review.

Previously, Tom was a member of the Mayo Clinic Health System, most recently serving as Chief Executive Officer for the New Prague and Waseca, MN locations. Tom’s prior roles included Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Knowledge Management Officer and Chief Information Officer with the MCHS SW MN Region and a variety of other leadership roles with Marshfield Clinic, Ministry Healthcare and Allina Health System.

Tom holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. Tom is also board certified as a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and in Healthcare Compliance. He and his wife, Mary, have three sons – Daniel, Joseph and Samuel. Tom enjoys boating, fishing, the outdoors, music and all the activities his boys are into.

Doug joined Hudson Hospital & Clinic in October, 2012 serving as Vice President and Chief Finance Officer. He also currently serves as Chief Finance Officer for the HealthPartners Valley hospitals.

He joined Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, MN as Chief Financial Officer in 2000.  He was named CFO of Lakeview Health System in 2005, when Lakeview Hospital and Stillwater Medical Group merged to form an integrated delivery system. Doug’s work was instrumental in the mergers of our hospitals and clinics between 2005 and 2010. Earlier in his career, from 1990 to 2000, Mr. Johnson held various roles of increasing responsibility with Allina Health System in Minneapolis.

Doug holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin in River Falls and a Master of Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee. Doug, his wife and daughter live in Hudson.

Kristy joined Hudson Hospital & Clinic in February of 2017 as Director, Quality.  In November, 2017 she was named Vice President, Patient Care Services, CNO.  Kristy spent the majority of her nursing career at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, WI in a variety of nursing and leadership roles. When she moved to Hudson in 2013, she served as Clinical Director at Woodwinds Health Campus, Woodbury, MN.

Kristy holds a Bachelor of Science, Nursing and a Master of Science, Nursing Administration from University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. Kristy and her husband, Adam, live in Hudson with their two children, Ross and Ally. They love spending time on the St. Croix River and supporting their children in extracurricular activities.

Kristen joined Hudson Hospital & Clinic in April of 2018 as Director, Human Resources. Kristen has spent her career in the financial services and health care industries in various human resources and leadership roles. Prior to joining Hudson Hospital, Kristen was the human resources director at Allina Health’s River Falls Area Hospital and Regina Hospital.

Kristen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Communication and Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and has her SHRM-CP and HRCI-PHR certifications.

Kristen and her husband live in Hudson with their three boys and enjoy spending time supporting the boys’ activities.

Brian Peterson, DO, has been with HealthPartners since July of 2010. Dr. Peterson has held his current position as a board-certified emergency medicine doctor at Hudson Hospital & Clinic for over 12 years, serving on various committees within the hospital and emergency department. Since January of 2023, Dr. Peterson has served as the Chief of Staff for Hudson Hospital & Clinic.

Dr. Peterson attended Midwestern University where he obtained his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from North Park University.

Erika joined Hudson Hospital & Clinic in 1999 as the Manager of Social Services. In June 2023 she was named Director, Hudson Hospital Foundation. Erika has spent the majority of her career in healthcare working with patients and families in a variety of leadership roles including Care Management, Family Resource Education, Guest Services, Patient and Family Experience, Music Therapy, Social Services, and Spiritual Care.

Erika holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Social Work and Psychology from St. Olaf College and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Minnesota. She and her husband, Andy, live in Cottage Grove and have two daughters. They enjoy supporting their children’s activities, traveling, and being outdoors.

Board of directors

Hudson Hospital & Clinic is a non-profit organization, locally governed by a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is a volunteer Board comprised of community leaders and representatives, HealthPartners representatives and physicians, and Hudson Hospital & Clinic physicians and medical staff.
