Current openings

Olivia Hospital & Clinic is looking for a Pharmacy Technician to assist with general pharmacy functions such as drug storage, drug inventory and required record keeping! This position will work under the supervision of the Pharmacist and in collaboration with all clinical departments and business office staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Check in medication orders and maintain an accurate computer inventory.
  • Check medication and supplies for outdates, remove expired drugs, and maintain list of reorders needed.
  • Check outdates in ER, CCU, Medical Room and Med Carts including Omnicell unit monthly.
  • Participates in Total Quality Management process as required.
  • Maintain record of all refrigerator temps where pharmaceuticals are stored.
  • Maintain accurate computer formulary; assuring NDC numbers are current and accurate for billing purposes.
  • Work with the Business Office to expedite billing process through regular formulary updates, system reviews, chart reviews, and process improvements.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meetings.
  • Communicates with nursing staff, physicians, pharmacist, and others relating to job function in an appropriate and timely manner.

About You

  • Certification from a recognized Pharmacy Technician program required.
  • Current licensure in good standing in the State of Minnesota required.
  • Previous experience in another pharmacy setting (i.e., retail pharmacy or clinic pharmacy) required.
  • Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in a legible penmanship and/or accurate keyboarding.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to focus and prioritize drug/medication detail orientation materials and functions.

Olivia Hospital & Clinic is looking for a Radiologic Technologist! This position will work 64 hours per pay period with some weeknight shifts and on-call weekend rotations every 5th weekend. The Radiologic Technologist operates specialized radiographic equipment (General X-Ray, CT, and Fluoroscopy) to provide high quality diagnostic images as directed by the providers and radiologist while following the ALARA principle and providing excellent patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that images meet quality standards by performing daily, weekly and monthly quality assurance on radiologic equipment and record all data.
  • Must have the ability to perform or assist with additional specialized radiographic procedures such as Mammography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work efficiently with direct supervisor, administration, physicians, patients, and staff.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Seek assistance when appropriate and necessary to ensure patient safety.
  • Ability to work independently and also as a team utilizing critical thinking skills.
  • Efficient using the EMR and PACS system, creates CDs of images as needed for records requests.

Olivia Hospital & Clinic is looking for a casual Dietary Aide! This position will work up to 20 hours per pay period and to help fill in when staff is on leave or vacation. This position is scheduled every other weekend with the opportunity to pick-up shifts on weekdays as desired.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares food trays for general and therapeutic diets.
  • Prepares and delivers items as requested by patients or departments.
  • Assists in preparing salads, desserts and nourishments as instructed.
  • Portions and counts cold foods and desserts using proper garnishes as necessary.
  • Prepares food according to standardized recipes, written and verbal instructions including type, quantity, and portions.
  • Observes Infection Control, Sanitation and Safety standards at all times.
  • Performs dishwashing tasks.
  • Disposes of trash and garbage in appropriate manner as needed.

DEPARTMENT: LABORATORY

Olivia Hospital & Clinic has an opening for a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS). This position performs chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

Field techniques of bacteriology, hematology, serology, coagulation, blood banking and chemical and morphological examinations will be used to complete everyday operations.

This position will also be responsible for recording laboratory test results, define problems, collect data, and establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

This position will work primarily days and every 4th weekend. This position will also work afternoons every 4 weeks.

Education, Training or Degree Required:

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent form a two-year college or technical school (required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (preferred)
  • Certification as a MLT or MLS from SCP or NCA (required)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be able to operate all equipment in the laboratory.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the accuracy of examinations and analysis to assist physicians to make correct diagnosis of patient’s disease and for careful handling of infectious material to protect all laboratory personnel.

This position is responsible for accurately collecting specimens for medical provider ordered lab tests.  The position requires a high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients and coworkers.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret, verify, and carry out medical provider ordered lab tests.
  • Reference, interpret, and apply laboratory specimen requirements.
  • Obtain or collect body fluids, tissue and other substances to aid the laboratory in determining normal and abnormal findings.
  • Foster an atmosphere of trust and confidence with patients while explaining and performing procedures.
  • Provide instructions clearly and accurately for patient collected specimens.
  • Maintain an environment of privacy, safety and integrity for all patients, at all times.

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience working in a health care facility preferred
  • CMA or Certification in Phlebotomy preferred
  • Proficient in capillary, venous, and arterial blood collection

Olivia Hospital & Clinic is seeking Family Medicine Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join our Medical Center in Olivia, MN functioning in our Primary Clinics. This position has schedule flexibility with operating hours between 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday and/or Saturdays from 8:00am to 12:00pm. Patient encounters will vary per shift with an average of 15-20 patients per 8 hour shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Examines, diagnoses and treats patients of all ages, for minor injuries, infections, illnesses and preventive care.
  • Educates patients and families about acute and chronic conditions or concerns.
  • Orders lab and imaging tests to determine issues and manages an immediate treatment plan and provides advice on follow up.
  • Refers appropriate tertiary care to specialists or to the Emergency Department.

About you:

  • Graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Physician Assistant candidates must have current certification from the National Committee for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), and be licensed by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.

This position will be responsible for all patient registration, Clinic Provider scheduling, walk-in Clinic Provider scheduling, and central telephone duties.  This position will also meet, greet, direct, escort and/or transport patients and visitors as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Patient Registration
    • Accurately verify all patients and benefit information through pre-admission, previous registration, direct contact or Language Line assistance.
    • Scans insurance and driver’s license cards as needed.
    • Prints and distributes related documents according to procedures.
    • Obtains appropriate signatures for consents and privacy notices.
    • Coordinates patient status and location within hospital departments.
    • Distributes financial assistance materials.
    • Collects co-pays and deductibles as directed by OHC and insurance policies.
  • Provider Scheduling
    • Ensure provider scheduling templates are accurate according to monthly provider schedule and weekly clinic memo and Clinic Manager.
    • Schedule or re-schedule Provider clients from scheduling calls or provider return appointments.
    • Print and send out patient appointment recall letters.

About You

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to effectively problem solve.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with management, staff, patients, providers, clients, etc.
