Current openings

Olivia Hospital & Clinic is looking for a Discharge Planner / Registered Nurse to serve our Emergency Room and Med/Surge areas! This position will work approximately 64 hours per pay period with scheduling and hour flexibility. Shifts would consist of 8 to 12 hours with a rotating, every third weekend as well.

This position is eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus!

Responsibilities:

RN

  • Assess the health care needs of patient/family utilizing nursing assessment tools and available resources.
  • Uses interviewing and observation skills to determine, identify and document common variables and unusual problems affecting care.
  • Develops and implements an individualized plan of care using medical and nursing diagnosis, nursing assessment data and current nursing and therapeutic measures.
  • Identifies immediate and long-range implications of nursing activities including, but not limited to, positioning, use of equipment, aseptic technique, use of personal protective equipment.
  • Revises the nursing care plan to reflect the changing needs of the patient.
  • Collaborates with other departments to implement the comprehensive individual patient care plan.
  • Demonstrates consistent ability to manage nursing service problems, emergency situations, and initiates life saving measures in the absence of a physician, within the RN scope of practice.
  • Documents all nursing care delivered per hospital processes, including the patient’s response to the care delivered and communicates the implementation of care to appropriate personnel.
  • Assists in implementing new policies or procedures and provides support for those already established.
  • Participates in the evaluation of nursing care through participation in Total Quality Management programs or other appropriate review processes.
  • Helps patients and/or staff identify existing problems and explores with them the outcomes of alternative choices.

Discharge Planner

  • Coordinates the discharge planning with the patient attending physician.
  • Assists patient and family in contacting appropriate community resources.
  • Makes patient and family aware of Medicare/insurance benefits and qualifying factors.
  • Maintains required reports, records, and statistical information for QAPI.
  • Orders DME equipment or facilitates the start of the order process for inpatients.
  • Assesses potential Swing bed patient referrals received form other facilities.
  • Completes screenings for all Swing bed/Nursing home patients as required by the State of Minnesota.

About you

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Diploma, Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in professional nursing.
  • Current licensure in good standing in the State of Minnesota
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Knowledge of Mandated Reporting and Advanced Directives
  • Ability to use all equipment used in the course of providing care, such as: infusing pumps, vital signs monitors, telemetry equipment, cardiac monitors, defibrillators, scales, blood warmers, etc.

Olivia Hospital & Clinic is looking for an LPN to join our Clinic department!  This is a full-time position working 72 hours per pay period.

Responsibilities:

  • Collects selected data about the health status of patients.
  • Knowledge of medications, usual dosage, their effect on patients and common side effects.
  • Performs focused assessments based on objective data, subjective data collected from the patient, and knowledge of baseline health principles and reacts appropriately.
  • Recognizes changes in patients’ condition and communicates information and concerns to patients’ provider in a timely manner.
  • Participates in the development of the plan of care with other team members and safely implements that plan.
  • Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate results under supervision of RN Nurse Supervisor or RN Clinic Manager.

  • Graduate of an accredited professional LPN program or certified medical assistant program.

The position requires a high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients and coworkers.

Responsibilities:

  • Reference, interpret, and apply laboratory specimen requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform activities related to hematology, urinalysis, routine and special chemistry, bacteriology, blood banking, coagulation, venipunctures, fingersticks, and arterial draws.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of examinations and analysis to assist physicians to make correct diagnosis of patient’s disease and for careful handling of infectious material to protect all laboratory personnel.
  • Collect blood and specimens under asceptic conditions.
  • Record accurate test results and responsible for the care of all laboratory equipment.
  • Perform various chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
  • Receives or obtains specimens for Laboratory analysis.

Olivia Hospital & Clinic is looking for a Patient Access Representative! This position will be responsible for all patient registration, Clinic Provider scheduling, Walk-In Clinic Provider scheduling, and central telephone duties. This position will also meet, greet, direct, escort and/or transport patients and visitors as needed. The Patient Access Representative will work every 5th weekend from 8am - 12pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Patient Registration
    • Accurately verify all patients and benefit information through pre-admission, previous registration, direct contact or Language Line assistance.
    • Scans insurance and driver’s license cards as needed.
    • Prints and distributes related documents according to procedures.
    • Obtains appropriate signatures for consents and privacy notices.
    • Coordinates patient status and location within hospital departments.
    • Distributes financial assistance materials.
    • Collects co-pays and deductibles as directed by OHC and insurance policies.
  • Provider Scheduling
    • Ensure provider scheduling templates are accurate according to monthly provider schedule and weekly clinic memo and Clinic Manager.
    • Schedule or re-schedule Provider clients from scheduling calls or provider return appointments.
    • Print and send out patient appointment recall letters.

About you

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Olivia Hospital & Clinic is looking for a RN Care Team Lead! This is a full-time position working 72 hours per pay period. This position assists with maintaining efficient patient flow and quality care during clinic hours and serves as a first line resource for clinic nursing staff questions.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with care team members to ensure patient messages and result notes have been addressed and communicated appropriately in a timely manner.
  • Accurately triages patients to Walk-In Clinic or ER as appropriate.
  • Works with care team members to complete faxes, referrals, appeals, and authorizations.
  • Monitors and collaborates with care team members to ensure Pre-Visit Planning is completed prior to patient encounters.

  • Completes timely and comprehensive patient documentation.
  • Assists with prioritization of patient care in Walk-In Clinic.
  • Collaborates with Walk-In Clinic staff, ER staff, and Patient Access staff to identify process improvement initatives related to the triage process.
  • Applies Evidence Based Practice and Quality of Care Standards to nursing practice.
  • Demonstrates stewardship of organizational resources and applies to nursing practice.
  • Connects the practice of nursing to service area/organization initiatives through committee/project participation and attendance of service area/organization meetings.

About you

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Diploma, Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in professional nursing
  • Current RN licensure in good standing in the State of Minnesota
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in Emergency Nursing preferred
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve to make decisions
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • ACLS Certification (or able to obtain within 6 months)
  • CPR Certification (or able to obtain within 6 months)
  • Ability to delegate to others within their certification or licensure
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Preceptorship opportunities for new team members

During a preceptorship, an experienced health care practitioner provides you with supervision and support for a rotation (or a certain period of time). This is a valuable opportunity to learn the ropes from a more senior team member.

The application deadline for a preceptorship is six months prior to the start of your rotation.
