Transferring a patient
At Hutchinson Health Hospital, we accept all patient transfers that we can care for safely. Our 24-hour phone line is available for doctors and providers to arrange a transfer or referral at any time.
When you call, you’ll speak with a member of our team. We'll ask a few questions to help ensure that the patient can be promptly and successfully transferred into our care. With this information, we’ll connect you with the appropriate services.

Hutchinson Health Hospital is centrally located, just one hour west of the Twin Cities. We are a Level I Heart Attack Center and an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital. We are a licensed, Level IV Trauma Center, including an inpatient mental health unit serving adolescents and adults. In June of 2020, we opened a brand new, 18-bed acute care unit (ACU) featuring four intensive care unit (ICU) beds. Each room is private and was developed with the latest enhancements to support the best patient and family experience.
Hutchinson Health Hospital is a community hospital with services that allow for higher acuity care, which is not available at most community hospitals and sets us apart in the region. We’ve been named a Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital by the Chartis Group, and have been recognized by the Minnesota Hospital Association for superior performance in quality and patient safety.
In partnership with HealthPartners, Hutchinson Health includes primary and specialty care clinics, emergency services and specialty programs. Hutchinson Health also includes intensive care, featuring eICU technology – meaning specialized Critical Care Intensivist physicians oversee patient care through the use of telemedicine technology. We also provide a facility-wide clinical monitoring system.
