Spiritual care

Support for patient families

Whether your visit is planned or unexpected, spending time in the hospital requires patience and preparation. We offer spiritual support for families, including visits with spiritual care chaplains and chapel services.

Spiritual care

During illness and hospitalization, the human spirit often needs special attention. Our board-certified chaplains give comfort and counseling to patients and family members of all faiths, as well as people who aren't religious. Sometimes patients may simply want to talk with someone who can ease their worries.

We also offer hand massage, aromatherapy and other techniques to promote relaxation. Speak with any member of your health care team to request a spiritual care chaplain or call us for more information.

Methodist Hospital’s chapel welcomes people of all faiths at any time for quiet reflection, peaceful music and prayer. You, your family and other visitors can attend chapel services or watch them live on Channel 10 or 77 on the TV in your room.

  • Location: 1st floor, Suite 1-600, Methodist Hospital
  • Hours: Any time; Interfaith prayer and reflection services conducted Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 8:40 a.m.

Clinical Pastoral Education

We also offer Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) to provide spiritual and clinical education that equips students to become deeply and uniquely effective in their ministry.
