Celebrating every birth
We know that every birth is unique, so your care will be based on your family’s wishes and needs. Whether you’re interested in laboring in a whirlpool tub, using aromatherapy or hearing your special playlist, our team is here to give you peace of mind and expert care every step of the way.
We promise to make the delivery of your little one a safe and memorable experience. We celebrate every birth with a special meal for the new parents and a photo session by a professional photographer, including a free 5x7 picture.
Neonatal Virtual Care Services
Your newborn is never far away from highly specialized care. We offer state-of-the-art neonatal virtual care at the Westfields Hospital & Clinic Birth Center through a partnership with newborn care specialists at Children’s Minnesota Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Neonatal virtual care brings specialty care to our patients when and where it is needed most. If your baby is born early or experiences unexpected medical complications after delivery, your baby’s care team may choose to consult with Children’s newborn care specialists. Using a specialized telemedicine cart with secure audio/visual technology, a Children’s newborn specialist will be virtually present at your baby’s bedside. Clinicians from the Westfields Hospital & Clinic Birth Center and Children’s Minnesota will work together to quickly treat your baby. All final care decisions will be made by your baby’s physician.
Breastfeeding is natural, but it doesn’t always come naturally. At the Westfields Hospital & Clinic Birth Center, we’re here to help mothers and babies get off to a good start on their breastfeeding journey.
We offer prenatal breastfeeding classes online before your due date, and when your little one arrives, you can expect high-quality inpatient support from our lactation-certified nurses. When you’re ready to return home, you’ll have access to our lactation consultants’ continued support by phone or appointment, as well as the option of joining our breastfeeding support group online.
Need lactation support? Our board-certified lactation consultants are available 24/7. Call 715-243-2680.
We offer two different in-person prenatal classes to help prepare new parents for life with their little one. In our childbirth classes, you’ll learn about everything from the physical and emotional changes during pregnancy to childbirth and caring for your baby when you return home.
During our breastfeeding class, you’ll learn the benefits of breastfeeding for mom and baby, positioning techniques, partner's involvement, and information about choosing and using a breast pump.
Parents, grandparents and caregivers can learn the best way to buckle up their little ones and make sure car seats are installed safely. Call 715-243-2680 for an appointment with one of our Certified Child Safety Technicians.
