Volunteer application process

Applying for a volunteer opportunity

To become a volunteer at Regions Hospital or HealthPartners clinics, you must first complete the volunteer application process. The process has been designed to help make sure that volunteering at Regions is a good fit for your skills and background.

The application process for our year-round and summer programs is the same. Volunteers are invited to apply for the summer program beginning January 1st - April 30th, there may be limited offerings available for those who apply after this date.

What to expect from the application process

After you submit your volunteer application, one of our Volunteer Services team members will contact you if you’re selected for an interview.

Step 1: Hospital volunteer interview

We'll review your application and contact you via email to schedule an interview. During the hospital volunteer interview , you'll tell us about yourself, your interests and your availability. This helps us find the best opportunities to match your talents.

Please bring these completed documents to your interview:

Please note that your Initial Volunteer Health Screening document must be signed by a healthcare provider.

Step 2: Orientation and pre-screening

Upon acceptance into the program after your interview, you'll need to complete an online orientation. You'll also need to complete these screenings:

  • State of Minnesota background check and fingerprinting (18+)
  • Health screening with Employee Health Service, including review of proof of vaccination and blood draw for a TB test (free of charge and scheduled through Volunteer Services)

Step 3: Hospital and clinic training

You'll complete onsite training with a team member in the department where you're volunteering.

If you have any questions about the volunteer application process, contact us at 651-254-5709 or volunteerservices@healthpartners.com.

Give us a call, and we'll help find service-learning opportunities for your students.
