Helping you write your birth story by honoring your choices from Day One

When you choose where you’ll give birth, you’re choosing how to start the next chapter of your family’s story. We’re here to help you do just that, by recognizing and honoring your birth choices. From epidurals to unmedicated water births and everything in between, we’re ready to help you have the birth experience you’re hoping for – starting long before you’re ready to deliver.

Supporting you at every step of your birth journey
1. Support from day one

Those two little lines change everything – and it’s never too early to get great care. You can make an appointment as soon as you think you might be pregnant. Find an OB-GYN or midwife at a clinic near you, or call our OB-GYN clinic line at 952-967-7619.

Track your pregnancy journey

The myHealthyPregnancy app can help you keep track of your prenatal appointments, get weekly milestone notifications about your pregnancy, count kicks and more. You can get the app for Android or iPhone.

2. Preparing for birth
Learn new parenting skills and connect with members of the care team
  • Take prenatal classes – Choose from a full range of childbirth classes, including Lamaze, mindful birthing classes, prenatal yoga and breastfeeding.
  • “Meet the Midwives” – This event is currently on hold. Check back here for updates on future opportunities to meet our team of midwives.
  • Attend a car seat clinic – Attend one of our free clinics to learn how to correctly install and use child and booster car seats. See the 2023 car seat clinic schedule (PDF). To make an appointment, call 651-254-3564.
3. Labor and delivery

With a range of labor and delivery care options at your fingertips – and the ability to have supportive partners, families and doulas by your side – your care team at Regions Hospital Family Birth Center is here to help you have the birth experience you want.

Your choices aren’t limited to an unmedicated birth or an epidural. When it comes to pain management, we offer a range of options – from natural methods like aromatherapy to medications like nitrous oxide and more. In addition to vaginal births, we’re able to perform gentle cesarean deliveries, if necessary. And we also have a high rate of successful vaginal births after cesarean (VBACs).

4. Postpartum care

Once baby arrives, get the care, support and guidance you need to take care of yourself and your baby. As a Baby-Friendly USA Hospital, you can expect time for skin-to-skin contact and bonding – a practice that our birth center was among the first to make a standard practice.

You’ll also get breastfeeding support right away with help from certified lactation consultations, and your baby will get care from HealthPartners pediatricians. If your baby needs extra care, we’re ready too. Neonatologists from Children’s Hospital staff our Level 2 NICU.

If you have questions before you leave the hospital or after you get home, we’re here for you then, too. All you need to do is pick up your phone and call the BabyLine℠ at 612-333-2229. A specially trained OB-GYN nurse is on call 24/7. It’s free, and you don’t need to be a patient or have HealthPartners insurance.
