Programs for Health Care Professionals
International Diabetes Center offers education programs for primary care physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, dietitians, diabetes educators, pharmacists, students and interns. These programs provide hands-on experience and networking opportunities, and are taught by experienced faculty active in diabetes research, education and care.
NOTICE: The COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing requirements have severely impacted our ability to hold on-site conferences this year. All on-site programs for 2020 have been canceled. We have also canceled plans for online virtual programs for 2020. We expect to provide information about 2021 programs early next year.
- IDC Symposium for Advanced Diabetes Educators
Our IDC Symposium explores the latest trends in diabetes care and education to keep you up to date and ready for new challenges.
- Advanced Strategies for Diabetes Educators (Canceled for 2020)
Offers those who are experienced in diabetes an in-depth focus on advanced topics, diabetes technologies and comorbidities. Topics include advanced insulin dose management, continuous glucose monitoring and advanced nutrition.
- Clinical Diabetes Management for Primary Care Clinicians (Canceled for 2020)
This comprehensive program emphasizes application though practice-based case studies and in-depth sessions on topics such as insulin therapy, hypertension, lipids and noninsulin therapies.
- Diabetes Foundations for Health Professionals (Canceled for 2020)
This program builds a strong foundation in diabetes care and education through presentations and hands-on learning.
- Caring for Adult Patients with Diabetes (Canceled for 2020)
Provides an overview of the diabetes care plan, nutrition therapy and classes of medication.
- Diabetes Care in a Backpack (Rescheduled to fall of 2021)
Covers management issues for children and adolescents with diabetes in a school setting. Our program originally scheduled for Oct. 10, 2020 has been rescheduled for the fall of 2021 (date to be announced).
