Our research has been improving the treatment and prevention of Alzheimer’s disease and other neurologic disorders for almost 50 years. We continue to advance memory research through a creative and collaborative approach.
We also provide community education and serve as a resource, bringing together patients, families, research centers, universities and pharmaceutical companies with the common goal of curing Alzheimer’s disease. And you can help.
With your support, we will continue our nationally recognized research and innovative clinical trials along with team-driven patient care and caregiver education.

Our story
Our Alzheimer’s research journey began in 1977 as we sought to understand the causes of the disease. As the number of people with Alzheimer’s disease and other memory disorders increased, we recognized that new approaches to treatment, prevention and care were critical.
In 1989, we discovered that natural therapeutics could be delivered directly from the nose to the brain along the nerves involved in smell. This approach allows therapeutics to reach the brain while reducing unwanted side effects – a discovery acknowledged by a U.S. patent and replicated by researchers around the world.

Today, multiple human clinical trials have shown that our intranasal insulin treatment improves memory. Research conducted in Germany showed improvement for adults without Alzheimer’s while multiple trials in the U.S. showed improved memory and function in patients with Alzheimer’s.
Supporting the next chapter
Contributions from donors like you keep this innovative research moving forward. We are grateful for each donation.
Gifts supporting our research are processed through Regions Hospital Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization that raises funds for Alzheimer’s and memory research and other programs in patient care, research and education. Charitable gifts made through the Foundation are tax deductible, and your dollars go directly to programs.
Over the decades, our research program has been known by several names, including Alzheimer’s Research Center. While that name is no longer in use, the advances made during that time are progressing at the Center for Memory and Aging through HealthPartners Institute’s Neuroscience Research Center. Rest assured that any gifts made to Alzheimer’s Research Center will support memory research at this Center.
We are grateful to supporters who have arranged for bequests to support this work. If this is right for you, talk with your estate planner about opportunities to support Alzheimer’s and memory research through your will.
