Why I chose Regions: Regions provides a distinctive environment where pharmacists play an essential role within the healthcare team each day. Having gained this experience both as a former student and PGY-1 Resident, I was fortunate to witness and actively engage in the significant contributions made by our pharmacists across a variety of settings, ranging from the Emergency Department to the Burn Unit to multiple intensive care units. Continuing my training as a PGY-2 Resident at Regions, I recognized the promise of daily challenges, the opportunity to learn from exceptional pharmacist preceptors, and the chance to collaborate with a variety of health professionals. In addition to enhancing my critical care knowledge, this program offers the chance to learn in unique settings such as in the pediatric intensive care unit, neurocritical care unit, the Poison Control Center, and more. These diverse experiences will help me on my path to become a versatile and skilled emergency medicine or critical care pharmacist in the future.
