We start the day with an introduction to our patient case, focusing on the diagnosis and initial considerations for treatment. Attendees will gain insights into the challenges and unique aspects of navigating such cases.

8:05am – 9:55am | Session 2 | Strategies to Holistically Support Hand Therapy Patients
This session will explore comprehensive approaches to support patients, including psychological strategies, effective communication techniques, and interactive treatment methods. Emphasis will be placed on building rapport and incorporating mental health into the care you provide.

10:10am – 11:40am | Session 3 | Unlocking Mobility: Effective Evaluation and Treatment of Limited Motion
Attendees will learn about the causes of range of motion deficits and various treatment interventions. We will cover joint mobilization, splinting ideas, and scar management techniques to improve patient outcomes.

We address common patient questions regarding recovery, providing evidence-based answers and practical advice.

1:10pm – 2:40pm | Session 5 | Strength Restored: Comprehensive Approaches to Developing Strength
Attendees will learn how to identify the sources of weakness and implement effective treatment strategies. The session will cover core strengthening, proprioception exercises, and techniques for improving stability and postural strength.

2:55pm – 3:45pm | Session 6 | Reflections & Panel Discussion
This session provides a recap of our patient case, followed by a discussion involving the treating therapist, physical medicine and rehabilitation physician, and the patient. The focus will be on collaborative problem-solving and sharing insights from different perspectives.
